Key Changes in NMIMS MBA Selection Criteria for 2025
SVKM's NMIMS has revised its MBA selection criteria for the 2025 batch. This year, the weightage for NMAT has been significantly reduced, and a newly introduced competency assessment holds a much larger share. Here's a breakdown:
Weightage Breakdown
| Component | Weightage |
|---|---|
| NMAT Scores | 20% |
| Competency Assessment | 50% |
| Personal Interview (PI) | 10% |
| Work Experience | 10% |
| Academic Record | 10% (HSC: 5%, Graduation: 5%) |
Selection Process Details
Unlike the previous years, where NMAT had a larger weightage (60-70%), this year's criteria emphasize more on the competency assessment, which now contributes 50% to the final decision.
In addition to this, candidates will still need to participate in the Personal Interview (PI) and demonstrate their work experience and academic record. The personal interview now holds only 10% weightage compared to previous years.
Important Dates and Steps
- January 21, 2025: Last date to book slots for PI and competency assessment.
- January 30, 2025: PI and competency assessment begin for MBA programs (except Pharma Management).
- February 27-28, 2025: PI and competency assessment for MBA Pharma Management program.
Shortlisted candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 1,100 to participate in the selection rounds. Be sure to plan accordingly as the entire selection procedure will take around 5 hours.
Other Updates from NMIMS
NMIMS has also streamlined the process by setting a common cutoff across all its campuses, making it easier for students to navigate the selection process. However, the cutoff for the MBA in Pharma Management program remains different from other MBA courses.
Candidates who have not yet met the NMIMS cutoff can still apply to other prestigious MBA colleges like TAPMI, with a deadline for applications via NMAT by January 25, 2025.
